I am often asked why "Pink Trillium Photography", the journey began three years ago as John and I moved to Harbor Springs, Michigan from the Ann Arbor area. We moved in May, as we drove down the Tunnel of Trees for the first time I was convinced this was something truly special we were witnessing as the trilliums bloomed and covered the woods. Among the sea of white toward the end of the Trillium season one can spy the occasional Pink Trillium. I am so in love with Northern Michigan & Harbor Springs, and wanted to choose a name that represented the beauty of my little Northern Michigan studio and the euphoria I feel being able to live, work and love here!
I truly enjoy the weddings I have been invited to capture, I love the fun spirit of the high school senior portraits, and the smiling little baby portraits, but if I were to be honest it is the Northern Michigan vacation portraits I truly enjoy! Here is a peek into a few of the wonderful Northern Michigan vacation memories that will be forever treasured. I would love to preserve your memories as well! Summer dates already booking up! Let Pink Trillium Photography capture and preserve your treasured memories in an artistic photo-journalistic style to pass down for generations to come.
In Northern Michigan the beauty is endless so given the choice I prefer the natural light and beauty of Northern Michigan! Your favorite spot or mine.....
But, there always is the occasion that the studio is a more appropriate setting. So let me give you a peek into the Pink Trillium Photography Studio. It has great natural light, but the umbrella lights lights are there to assist on the not so sunny days.....
Backdrops of white, barnboard, stone, fur,...etc to choose from. I also incorporate many props to keep the little ones smiling! Beyond the rocking horse there is also antique pedal cars, vintage sled, vintage suitcases, wagon's, vintage school desk, anything to get a perfect smile! While the props are great it is the smile that is the focus of the portrait. (Props often used in on location shoots too!) This photo shows the many other accessories I incorporate if desired including, hats, newsboy, tutu's, headbands, wings, etc....
Also pictured a favorite wedding prop, the ampersand. The gold disc is is a 5in1 reflector used both in studio sessions and on location sessions to add a warm glow, create a shady spot, or just brighten a smile.
A favorite part of the Pink Trillium Photography studio is the all of the beautiful thank you cards, and testimonials I have received and displayed.
